I am an awareness-informed mental health coach. Bringing compassionate awareness to past trauma, current circumstances, and somatic experience, I help guide you into an unfolding healing process to wholeness.
Individual
People come to coaches for a wide variety of reasons. Most of the work I do with clients is focused on mental health and well-being. Our work together will help you, firstly, become aware of various parts, aspects, and modalities of your experience. Secondly, our work together will help you live more spaciously with all of the parts and aspects. In time, as our various parts become unburdened through attentive compassionate awareness, our load becomes lighter, and life becomes more doable and available. Life choice, direction, and agency becomes more accessible.
Creativity
In addition to coaching with a focus on mental health and well-being, I provide support and guidance to clients looking to explore and strengthen their creativity and creative expression. I help clients understand the landscape and nature of their creativity. Beyond technical challenges, we often face internal obstacles that keep us from deepening our creative pursuits and discovering satisfying engagement. How do we uncover deeper meaning and purpose in our work? How do we work with self-judgment? How do we assess our creative expression with clarity and discernment? We live in a culture that does not always know how to attend to personal, creative expression – how do we support ourselves emotionally in such an environment?
Meaning & Purpose
While not always at the forefront of our busy lives, purpose and meaning are necessary ingredients for a satisfying and fulfilling life. When our lives are empty of meaning we may arrive at a kind of aimlessness that weakens our sense of vitality and joy. With a strong sense of meaning we find ourselves energized and engaged. Part of what I offer as a coach is helping clients discover their own personal sense of meaning, and working together to make actionable and practical steps towards manifesting those meanings in real world ways.
What is “Healing Through Awareness”?
We all experience our lives in different ways and modes. We have the stories of our current situations. We carry memories from our past. We have the sensations in our bodies. We feel our feelings and emotions. Some of these experiences are open and easy. They come and they go. Some of these experiences are troubling and burdensome. They tend to stick around, and often become obstacles to our well-being and bring suffering.
When we bring compassionate awareness to our troubling experiences these experiences begin to gradually (and sometimes quickly!) move into a more spacious and workable place within us. Open compassionate awareness becomes an active container, allowing for a natural and organic process of healing to occur.
As we become ever more aware of our stories, memories, sensations, and emotions, our burdens – like tight knots – gradually untie themselves. Compassionate awareness allows these burdened experiences to relax and rediscover their original vital state. As an awareness coach I work with you at your own pace, to help you bring awareness to each aspect of experience, guiding you towards a more spacious and fulfilling life.
Over time, as our life develops a growing sense of equilibrium, the experience of awareness itself may become an arena for exploration. This embodied exploration of awareness aligns with, and nourishes, the development of a more confident, connected, and compassionate self.
My work as a coach and facilitator is informed by the Internal Family Systems Model developed by Richard Schwartz, Relational Life Therapy developed by Terrence Real, the Three-Step Practice developed by Timothy Stokes, Bioenergetics developed by Alexander Lowen, and the non-dual teachings of Rupert Spira.
Distance Coaching
I offer distance coaching using Zoom. While in-person coaching has its benefits, distance coaching opens up many other opportunities. I want to be available to people no matter where they live.
